Here’s Chocolate Collectives latest news about all things chocolaty that we’ve been involved in, in and around Leeds and the North West.
Leeds Corporate Team Building Event is a hit!
Staff from Search Laboratory had a fantastic time last night learning how to make truffles with Chocolate Collective in Leeds! They learnt how to make a ganache from scratch, the tricky art of tempering dark chocolate, and got an insight into today’s chocolate industry too. This was one of the work social events for staff organised by the company every other month and by all accounts was one of their most popular to date.
A well organised and informative event with a brilliant host! We all had a great time and lots of fun making our chocolate truffles. It is one of our most favourite socials that we have ever done.
Thanks Louise for a fab time!

Chocolate and Champagne Workshops for Mums in Leeds anyone?
Chocolate Collective recently ran a special Valentine's Express Chocolate Making Workshop with Champagne for the Mums' Club in Altrincham, Cheshire. The event was held at a beautiful local venue and was a huge success, with the Valentine's themed evening being well received my all the mums who took part.
We would be delighted to do the same sort of thing for Mums in Leeds, giving you some wonderful "me time" with friends. There's no need to wait until next Valentine's Day either, as we can build our chocolate making workshops around any theme you like, or just make it an excuse for a chocolate and champagne treat!
We had Louise from Chocolate Collective for one of our events that are focused around Mums. From the moment Louise arrived she was brilliant. Very organised, very friendly and a brilliant instructor. It was the ideal night off for mums to indulge in a little bit of 'me time' with chocolate truffle making and champagne. We can not recommend Louise enough and will look to use her skills again in the near future.

Men can make chocolate in Leeds too!
Chocolate Collective was approached to run a chocolate making session for a large corporate company. The company was holding an all-day conference at a central hotel in Leeds City centre and their event manager was looking for an hour or so's activity to avoid the team hitting the bars too early!
Chocolate making was something the group hadn't done before and the Express chocolate workshop, where each person makes 15-20 truffles using Belgian dark chocolate for approximately 1 to 1.5 hours seemed to fit in perfectly with the day's schedule. It was a big surprise though when 32 chaps arrived for the workshop! All had great fun, enjoyed making their chocolates and did enjoy a beer or two whilst making them.
The Express chocolate workshops are perfect for any group of people, be it hen parties, stags do's, birthday celebrations, mums' groups, dad's groups or family groups and is suitable for men and women of all ages.
Chocolate and Home Education in Leeds
Though education is compulsory in the UK for ages 5-16, school is not. Many families choose to educate their children in other ways than through a school and it is their right to do so. Home educated families do not have to follow the National Curriculum and there is no "right" way to educate a child at home.
Both Manchester and Leeds home educated groups have enjoyed chocolate learning / chocolate making sessions run by Chocolate Collective. The groups made varying chocolate goodies (depending upon age): from lollipops to piping, to making individual chocolates and truffles. The children also learnt about the history of chocolate, where chocolate is obtained from and the chocolate making process.
Everyone had an enjoyable time including adults, children and myself.
Chocolate in Home Education could be great fun for your children too!
Chocolate Collective can tailor our chocolate workshops to your special needs, so if you are looking for something different as part of the home education of your children in the Leeds area, please get in touch to find out more.
